ROSEMONT, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Softball squad swept Rosemont College, 16-2 and 17-10, to open Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons improve to 4-9 on the season and start off 2-0 in CSAC play after the sweep of the Ravens.

In Game 1, Cedar Crest score two in the first and second innings, to have Rosemont cut the lead in half at the conclusion of the second inning, 4-2. The bats came alive for the Black and Yellow, as they put up a 10-spot in the top of the third, then scored two more in the fourth-inning to put the game at its final score, 16-2 in five innings.

Eight different Falcons record a hit, with six of them record two hits each in the win. Sophomores
Patricia Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) and
Ashley Heller (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) each drove in three RBIs as
Nicole Santaniello (Kissimmee, Fl./Osceola),
Delaney VanBuskirk (Bridgeville, Del./Woodbridge) and
Riley Tremblay (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) plated two runners each in the victory.

Pitching all five innings in the circle for the Falcons in Game 1 was junior
Breanna Young (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area), allowing two earned runs on three hits, walked two and struck out two in the 21 batters she faced.
Young earned her first win this season with this performance, putting her at 1-4 on the season.

Game 2 started out with two Cedar Crest runs in the first and three more in the top of the third to put the Falcons up 5-0. Rosemont would tie the game in the bottom half of the third, but the Black and Yellow would regain the lead with two more runs in the fourth, putting the score at 7-5. The Ravens would not go away easily, scoring five more runs in the fourth to take their first lead of the game, 7-10. Cedar Crest would plate two runs in the top of the sixth and head to the seventh-inning trailing by one, 9-10. Cedar Crest would unleash an eight-run top of the seventh inning and hold the Ravens scoreless in the bottom-half to finish the game, 17-10.

Both
Dalton and
VanBuskirk blasted their second home runs of the season in game two, with
Dalton going 5-for-5 with four RBIs and scored four runs herself.
VanBuskirk turned in a 3-for-5 performance, plating six Falcons runners in the game.
Tremblay also went 5-for-5 in game 2, scoring one run of her own.
Heller and
Young also had a three-hit game, with
Heller touching the plate four times for four runs and
Young scored twice and drove in a run.

Freshman
Skyler Bilous (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) got the start in the circle for Game 2, pitching 2.0+ innings before switching to
Young for the remainder of the game.
Bilous allowed four runs, all earned, on five hits and struck out a batter in the 11 batters she faced before
Young entered the game.
Young allowed six runs, five earned, on five hits, walked three batters and struck out one of the 24 batters she faced.
Young would earn the victory in the game, for her second win of the day, improving her record to 2-4 on the season.

Up next, Cedar Crest will travel to the University of Scranton on Monday, March 25 for a double-header at the Quinn Athletics Campus. First-pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
