CHESTER, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Softball team split their non-conference doubleheader with Widener University, 7-4 and 0-8, on Monday evening at the Widener Softball Field. The Falcons move to 10-15 overall this season.

In Game 1, the Black and Yellow struck first and scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Pride would score one run in the third to cut the lead down to two, 3-1, and that would be the score until the sixth inning. Cedar Crest added four runs in the sixth, including a two-run homerun by
Nicole Santaniello (Kissimmee, Fl./Osceola), as the Falcons now led 7-1. Widener would tack on two in the bottom half of the sixth and one more in the seventh, but Cedar Crest would hang on for the 7-4 victory.

Three Falcons recorded two hits each:
Riley Tremblay (Allentown, Pa./Parkland),
Danielle Krispin (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) and
Delaney VanBuskirk (Bridgeville, Del./Woodbridge).
Tremblay scored two runs and drove in an RBI while
Krispin crossed the plate once.
VanBuskirk also drove in a run and was walked.
Santaniello cleared the fence for a two-run homer, with two RBIs and scored twice.
Skyler Bilous (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) and
Dallas Horning (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) also reached base safely for the Black and Yellow,
Horning drove in two runs and
Bilous brought in a run as well.

Bilous started in the circle for Cedar Crest and threw for 4.0 innings, allowing one run on six hits going up against 22 batters.
Breanna Young (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) entered in relief, where she allowed three runs, two earned and a strikeout in 3.0 innings of work.
Bilous earned the victory and improves to 6-4 this season.

After a scoreless first inning, Widener would put up three runs in the bottom of the second to take the 3-0 lead. The Pride added on one in the fourth and fifth innings, then scored three in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game, 0-8 in six innings. The Falcons were able to earn three hits in Game 2, coming from
Aimee Sarboukh (South Bound Brook, N.J./Bound Brook),
Santaniello and
VanBuskirk.

The Falcons had three pitchers in the game, with
Young getting the start. She allowed six runs, five earned on six hits, followed by
Lillian Boltz (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) entering the game for one inning, allowing two runs on a hit and two walks in the six batters faced.
Young re-entered the game in the sixth for three batters before
Bilous was summoned to enter and gave up two hits.
Young was dealt the loss in the decision and falls to 4-7 this season.

The Falcons return home on Wednesday April 10 when they host the College of Saint Elizabeth for a non-conference doubleheader. First-pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Blaschak Field.
