CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. --- The second-seeded Cedar Crest College Softball squad defeated the three-seed Keystone College in the opening round of the 2019 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Softball Playoff Tournament at Wilson College Friday morning. The Falcons handed the Giants a 10-2 loss in five innings, to advance to the next round, where they would take on the host and number-one seed, Wilson College. The Falcons and Phoenix managed to play three full innings before the contest was halted due to weather, with Cedar Crest leading 3-0.

The Black and Yellow got to work early against Keystone, scoring four times in the first inning. The Giants would get one run in the third, but the Falcons would post a five-run inning in the fourth-inning to extend their lead to 9-1. Keystone plated one more in the top-half of the fifth to put the score at 9-2. Cedar Crest would plate the 10
th and final run of game, defeating Keystone 10-2.

Aimee Sarboukh (South Bound Brook, N.J./Bound Brook), Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasant Valley), Patricia Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) and
Riley Tremblay (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) each recorded multi-hit performances.
Sarboukh went 3-for-3 and plated a runner as
Bonser went 2-for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Dalton turned in a 2-for-2 performance while driving in three Falcons as
Tremblay went 2-for-4 and scored twice. These four combined for the five Falcon doubles earned in the game. There were also four other Falcons that recorded a hit in the game totaling the 13 hits that the Black and Yellow had in the game.

Breanna Young (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) got the start and there a complete game (6.0 innings) giving up two earned runs on three hits and two strikeouts in the 23 batters she faced.
Young earned the victory and improved to 7-9 on the season.

In Game 2 for the Falcons, they would go up against the Wilson College Phoenix for a spot in the CSAC Championship game that is set for Saturday May 4. Cedar Crest would jump out to a 3-0 lead through three innings before the game was postponed due to weather.
The game is set to pick up where we left off at 9:30 a.m., in the top of the fourth inning and the Falcons up to bat. Game five will be between Centenary University and the loser of the 9:30 game, which is tentatively scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Game six (Championship Game) is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and will consist of the winner of the 9:30 matchup and the 11:00 a.m. contest. The if necessary game for the championship, is set for 3:00 p.m.
