CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College cross country team competed in the DeSales Invitational hosted by DeSales University on Saturday morning.
Cedar Crest finished 16th overall out of the 19 schools that registered scores, with a total score of 403 points.
Seven Falcons recorded time in the race, with freshman
Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) finishing first for Cedar Crest 51
st overall in a time of 25:33. Finishing second for the Falcons was sophomore
Lillie Jones (Wilmington, Del./DelCastle Technical), who placed 121
st in a time of 28:31. Junior
Emily Kern (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) followed Jones in 124
th with a time of 28:46. Junior
Saige Sterner (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) crossed the finish line in a time of 30:21 while freshman
Jessica Simins (Phillipsburg, N.J./West Morris Central) rounded out the top five Falcons, placing 142
nd in a time of 31:02. Â
Sophomore
Carolyn Weiss (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) and junior Christina Alberci came across the finish line as the sixth and seventh runners for the Cedar Crest.
Cedar Crest will have its final tune-up before the CSAC Championship Meet when they run in the Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Gloucester County Dream Park. The meet will be hosted by Rowan University.
