ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The top seeded Cedar Crest College Falcons softball team is set to host the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Softball Championship Tournament, beginning Friday, May 7.
The Falcons (16-2, 16-2 CSAC) are the 1-seed in the tournament and earned the right to host the tournament, doing so for the first time in conference history. In 2019, the Black and Yellow finished as the CSAC Runner-Up, falling to Wilson College in Chambersburg.
Wilson College (21-3, 16-2 CSAC), who is the defending CSAC Softball Champions, are the 2-seed. Since Cedar Crest and Wilson finished with identical records and split their series, the tie breaker went down the line. Cedar Crest went 2-0 against Keystone last weekend, while Wilson and Keystone split their series, making Cedar Crest the host.
Keystone College (14-6, 14-4 CSAC) sits as the 3-seed and makes the CSAC Playoffs for back-to-back seasons at the 3-seed. The last team to make it to the Playoff Tournament is the 5-seed, Saint Elizabeth University (10-9, 9-9 CSAC) who defeated Rosemont College on Tuesday afternoon to claim the final spot.
Wilson and Keystone will go head-to-head to kick off the tournament at 9:30 AM on Friday. Cedar Crest will take on Saint Elizabeth in Game 2, scheduled to start at 11:30 AM, or 20 minutes after Game 1 concludes. Game 3 will be the first elimination game, scheduled for 1:30 PM, followed by the final game of Friday opener, taking place at 3:30 PM with the winners of both games 1 and 2.
Day 2 of the double-elimination tournament is set to start at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning, with the consolation-final game. The Championship Series will begin at 12:00 PM, with the if-necessary game to take place around 2:00 PM.
