Box Score 1 cALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College tennis team notched its first wins of the season with victories of 9-0 and 5-0 over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Rosemont College in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
Match One – Cedar Crest 9, Rosemont 0
The Falcons dropped only one game in a doubles sweep before winning all six singles matches, all of which were one in straight sets.

Maya Narasimhan (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) and sophomore
Katherine Franzone () took down Evora Kaiwi and Makaela Frey in an 8-1 final while the final two doubles pairs of junior
Sasha Singh (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland)/ sophomore
Lily Spagnola (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) and sophomore
Sam Henson (Waterbury, Conn./W.F. Keynor Technical)/freshman
Brittany Schultz () won by 8-0 scores.
The tightest singles match of the day came at the No. 6 between Schultz and Rachel Davies. Schultz won the first set 7-6, capturing the tiebreaker, 7-3. She would go on to edge Davies in the second set, 6-4.
The rest of singles was smooth sailing for the Falcons. Narasimhan won at No. 1 by 6-2, 6-0 finals over Kaiwi while
Katherine Franzone () won at No. 2 by identical 6-1, 6-1 scores. Spagnola captured the No. 4 singles point with scores 6-2, 6-2. Singh and Henson each blanked their opponents (6-0, 6-0) at the No. 3 and No. 5 singles spots, respectively.

Match Two – Cedar Crest 5, Rosemont 0
Cedar Crest continued its strong play in the second match of the afternoon, topping the Ravens 5-0, in a match that goes in as a non-conference contest.
The Falcons started with a clean sweep of doubles play. Narasimhan and Franzone earned an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 spot. Singh and Spagnola earned an 8-1 victory at No. 2 while Henson and freshman
Corinne O'Connor (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore ) closed it out with an 8-3 win at the No. 3 spot.
Franzone and Singh were victorious in singles action to secure the victory for Cedar Crest. Franzone topped Turner 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 2 while Singh blanked Frey 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. The remainder of the singles matches went unfinished as the Falcons were able to get to five points.
Cedar Crest (2-4 overall, 1-0 CSAC) will look to continue its winning ways as the Falcons host Penn State Berks on Sunday, April 3 in a non-conference tilt starting at noon.
