ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team sits in sixth place after one day at the Atlantic East Conference Championships, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland.
The finals session began with the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of junior
Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior), first-year
Meaghan Drum (Collegeville, Pa./Collegeville), senior
Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia), and senior
Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) finished fifth with a time 1:53.54.
Fiedler turned in a strong performance in the 500-yard freestyle, taking fourth with a time of 5:44.94.
Sophomore
Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del./Newark), Drum, and Berry each participated in the B-final of the 50-yard freestyle and registered times of 28.58, 28.84, and 28.98, respectively.
The next event that featured the Falcons was the 400-yard medley relay. The team of senior
Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), Drum, Alulis, and Fiedler took sixth (4:49.68) to capture 26 points.
Cedar Crest will be back in the pool for day two of the Championships, with the prelims taking place at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals session at 6:00 p.m.
