Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cedar Crest College tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons captured two of the three doubles points to snag the early advantage. Juniors Katherine Franzone (Mount Bethel, Pa./Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) and Lily Spagnola (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) were victorious at No. 1 doubles over sophomore Mackenzie Lookingland (Baltimore, Md.) and Aly Geckle. The No. 2 doubles tandem of seniors Taylor Wolf (Townsend, Del./Middletown) and Brittany Schultz (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) teamed up for an 8-4 win over sophomore Renee Rosales (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Nadia Abi (Bowie, Md.). The Gators collected a point with a victory at third doubles as sophomores Nwanneka Udolisa (Harford County, Md.) and Kritika KC (Baltimore, Md.) defeated the Cedar Crest pair of junior Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior) and sophomore Corinne O'Connor (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) in an 8-4 final.

The Falcons went onto take five of the six singles matches. Spagnola edged Lookingland in three sets at the top spot. Franzone got by Rosales at No. 2 by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Wolf took down Udolisa at third singles, 6-0 and 6-4. Schultz blanked Abi at the No. 4 spot with scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Fiedler beat KC at sixth singles.

NDMU got its second and final point of the match when Aly Geckle topped O'Connor at No. 5 singles by identical 6-1, 6-1 scores.

Cedar Crest (3-6 overall, 3-2 CSAC) will play a trio of non-conference matches to round out the regular season, beginning with a road contest at Neumann University on Tuesday, April 18 at 4:00 p.m. Notre Dame of Maryland University (2-2 overall, 2-1 CSAC) will next play at Bryn Athyn College on Monday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m.
