CHESTER, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team competed at the Danny Curran Invitational on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Widener University.

Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) for breaking the 400m and 800m school records."
The Falcons had three participants in the 100-meter dash, with first-year
Alyssa Maldonado (Delmar, Md./Parkland) clocking a time of 14.00 seconds, followed by sophomore
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) (14.67), and senior
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) (14.87).
In the 100-meter hurdles,
Lexus Kutz-Green () clocked a time of 22.07 seconds.
Cedar Crest had four on the track in the 200-meter dash with first-year
Mel Val (Tracy City, Tenn./St. Andrew's Sewanee) clocking a time of 28.64 seconds. Senior
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) came in right behind with a time of 28.78, while Maldonado (29.75) and Brooks (30.36) rounded out the runners for Cedar Crest.
Nester was back in action for the 400-meter dash, registering a time of 1:05.88, which marked a new program record.
Sabir was the lone competitor for Cedar Crest in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 1:21.35.
First-years
Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) and
Katherine Garcia () recorded respective times of 2:38.29 and 2:41.98 in the 800-meters. Cook's time marked a new program record.
In the 1500-meter run, senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) finished in 6:07.67.
Transitioning to the field events, junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) took 18
th in the discus with a mark of 33.04 meters. Bozen also took 15
th in the javelin with a throw of 29.29 meters.
Junior
Olivia Horninger (Friedens, Pa./Northern Lehigh) led the Falcons in the long jump with a mark of 4.12 meters. Senior
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) followed with a mark of 3.81 meters and sophomore
Tianlly Davila (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) recorded a jump of 3.68 meters.
Bozen also competed in the shot put and collected a mark of 9.13 meters.
Cedar Crest will return to action at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
