WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team finished tied for eighth at the Bill Butler Invitational, collecting 19 points.
"This weekend we went to battle with some really talented teams in some absolutely disgusting weather and had a lot of great performances," said Head Track & Field Coach

The Falcons had a pair on the track in the 100-meter dash. First-year
Alyssa Maldonado (Delmar, Md./Parkland) placed 10
th overall with a time of 13.69 seconds while classmate
Emily Matoushek (Waymart, Pa./Forest City Regional) ran a time of 15.31 seconds.
Junior
Lexus Kutz-Green () registered a time of 36.41 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Cedar Crest had four participants in the 400-meter dash. First-year
Mel Val (Tracy City, Tenn./St. Andrew's Sewanee) led the way for the Falcons with a time of 1:07.43 for 12
th place. Senior
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) followed three spots behind (1:08.57). Senior
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) clocked a time of 1:13.29 while sophomore
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) ran a time of 1:16.54.
First-year
Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) was the lone Cedar Crest student-athlete in the 800-meter run, finishing 18
th (2:44.10).
The Falcons had three competitors in the 1500-meter run. First-year
Katherine Garcia () paced the squad, clocking a time of 5:48.19. Senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) finished in a time of 6:15.38 while junior
Lauren Davis (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) recorded a time of 7.17.78.
First-year
Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) took eighth in the 5000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 23:30.69.
Sabir and Kutz-Green were the Cedar Crest representatives in the 100-meter hurdles. Sabir finished seventh (20.30 seconds) and Kutz-Green followed in 10
th (22.13 seconds).
The Falcons registered a fourth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay, recording a time of 54.46 seconds, which marked a program record.
Transitioning to the field events, junior
Alana Connor (Manassas, Va./Charles J. Colgan) took 13
th in the shot put with a mark of 9.56 meters.
Junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 34.20 meters. Sophomore
Courtney Gibbons (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) recorded a mark of 18.93 meters. First-year
Symarah Drey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) threw for a mark of 15.21 meters.
Cedar Crest had five participants in the hammer throw. Connor finished 11
th with a throw of 32.05 meters. Bozen followed with a mark of 27.13 meters. First-year
Gracie Domingo-Whitfield (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) collected a mark of 24.61 meters. Gibbons had a throw of 23.03 meters and senior
Heaven Bethea (Boynton Beach, Fla./South Tech Academy) had a mark of 22.47 meters.
Cedar Crest will return to action at the Coach P Invitational, hosted by Moravian University on Friday, April 18 starting at 10:00 a.m.
