BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team competed at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian University on Friday.
In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, junior
Lexus Kutz-Green () clocked a time of 22.27 seconds.
First-years
Alyssa Maldonado (Delmar, Md./Parkland) and
Emily Matoushek (Waymart, Pa./Forest City Regional) ran in the prelims of the 100-meter dash, recording times of 13.57 seconds and 15.27 seconds, respectively.
In the finals of the 3000-meter steeplechase, first-year
Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) took 12
th in a time of 14:11.51 while senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) followed in 13
th (14:17.33).
The Cedar Crest 4x100-meter relay team of Maldonado, senior
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg), sophomore
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch), and senior
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) finished ninth, crossing the finish line in 53.10 seconds. That time set a new program record.
Junior
Lauren Davis (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) was the lone participant for the Falcons in the 1500-meter run, clocking a time of 6:52.34.
In the 400-meter dash finals, Brooks recorded a time of 1:11.82.
First-years
Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) and
Katherine Garcia () took part in the 800-meter run with Cook finishing in 2:41.99 and Garcia crossing the line in 2:43.03.
In the 400-meter hurdles,Nester took 17
th with a time of 1:13.95, marking a new program record. Sabir registered a time of 1:22.59. Kutz-Green rounded out the Cedar Crest student-athletes in the field, crossing finish line in 1:35.15.
The Falcon pair of first-year
Mel Val (Tracy City, Tenn./St. Andrew's Sewanee) and Maldonado were the team representatives in the 200-meter dash, recording times of 29.33 seconds and 30.09 seconds, respectively.
The Cedar Crest 4x400-meter relay team of Nester, Cook, Garcia, and Val took 10
th, running a time of 4.32.92, marking a new program record.
Senior
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) competed in the long jump and recorded a mark of 3.82 meters.
Junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished seventh in the javelin with a throw of 31.74 meters. First-year
Symarah Drey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) registered a mark of 20.97 meters.
Bozen took ninth in the discus with a throw of 34.70 meters, breaking her own program record in the event.
Junior
Alana Connor (Manassas, Va./Charles J. Colgan) threw for a mark of 32.66 meters in the hammer throw finals.
Connor collected a mark of 9.36 meters in the shot put while first-year
Gracie Domingo-Whitfield (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) had a mark of 7.33 meters.
There was a delay in getting high jump results. Those will be reported on when they come in.
Cedar Crest will return to the track on Friday, April 25 for day one of the Blue Jay Tune-Up hosted by Elizabethtown College starting at 2:00 p.m.
