LATHAM, N.Y. – Senior
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) and junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) of the Cedar Crest College track & field team swept the United East Conference weekly awards, with Nester being named as the Track Athlete of the Week and Bozen bringing home the Field Athlete of the Week award after program-recording performances at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian University.
Nester broke three program records over the weekend. She ran a conference-leading and program record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.95, marking a program record. She was also part of the 4x100 relay (53:10 seconds) and 4x400 relay (4:32.92) that broke program records this weekend.
Bozen broke her own program record in the discus, finishing ninth in the event with a mark of 34.70 meters on Friday, moving into the conference lead in the event.
This is the first career Athlete of the Week awards for both Nester and Bozen.
Nester, Bozen, and Cedar Crest will return to the track at the Blue Jay Tune-Up at Elizabethtown College on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
