ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team took part in the Muhlenberg Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Scotty Wood Stadium.
In the 100-meter hurdles, senior
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) and junior
Lexus Kutz-Green () took 13
th and 14
th, with respective times of 20.85 seconds and 22.45 seconds.
The Falcons had three participants in the 200-meter dash, with senior
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) led the way with a 15
th-place finish with a personal record time of 28.60 seconds. Sophomore
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) followed in 23
rd, clocking a time of 30.56 seconds. Kutz-Green rounded out the Cedar Crest runners in the event, finishing in 35.34 seconds.
First-year
Mel Val (Tracy City, Tenn./St. Andrew's Sewanee) was the lone Falcon in the 400-meters, registering a time of 1:06.18.
Cedar Crest had two on the track in the 400-meter hurdles with Nester taking 10
th in a time of 1:15.28, while Sabir clocked a personal record time of 1:20.93.
Katherine Garcia () represented the Falcons in the 800-meters, finishing 28
th, crossing the finish line in 2:44.50.
First-year
Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) ran in the 1500-meter run and took 31
st with a time of 5:52.45.
The Falcons had a pair in the 3000-meter steeplechase with first-year
Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) finishing 11
th with a time of 14.46.01. Senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) was 13
th (14:59.36).
In the field portion of the event, Cedar Crest had three register marks in the discus. Junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) was 10
th with a mark of 30.82 meters. Junior
Alana Connor (Manassas, Va./Charles J. Colgan) secured a personal record with a throw of 25.25 meters. First-year
Symarah Drey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) threw for a mark of 15.38 meters.
Connor paced the Falcons in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 30.00 meters, good enough for 15
th. Sophomore
Courtney Gibbons (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) registered a throw of 28.24 meters. Senior
Heaven Bethea (Boynton Beach, Fla./South Tech Academy) was 25
th with a mark of 22.21 meters. First-year
Gracie Domingo-Whitfield (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was 27
th with a throw of 18.05 meters.
Cedar Crest had a pair in the javelin event. Bozen took third with a throw of a personal record 30.45 meters, while Drey also secured a personal record of a mark of 18.48 meters.
The Falcons had two record marks in the long jump. Senior
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) recorded a jump of 3.68 meters while sophomore
Tianlly Davila (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) picked up a mark of 3.49 meters.
A trio of Cedar Crest student-athletes competed in the shot put with Connor placing 16
th with a throw of 9.38 meters. Bozen recorded a throw of 9.35 meters and sophomore
Lexa Branson (Haymarket, Va./Heritage) picked up a mark of 7.70 meters.
