ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team remains steady in fifth place after the third day at the Atlantic East Conference Championships on Saturday, tallying 176 points.
First-year
Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) clocked a prelim time of 6:31.56 in the 400-yard IM and then turned in a time of 6:28.05 in the finals.
Sophomore
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) was the lone participant in the 100-yard butterfly for the Falcons. Nadasi touched in 1:23.05 in the prelims and then trimmed off four seconds in the finals (1:19.05).
First-year
Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande) and senior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) were the representatives in the water for Cedar Crest in the 200-yard freestyle. Aragon swam a time of 2:22.90 in the prelims and 2:22.09 in the finals while Reinhart followed with a prelim time of 2:42.41 and 2:44.06 in the finals.
Junior
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) medaled in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking third in the finals with a time of 1:12.22.
First-year
Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) was the only Falcon in the water for the 100-yard backstroke, tallying a time of 1:22.72 in the prelims and 1:23.17 in the finals.
In the final event of the day, the team of Cohen, Heusner, Nadasi, and Aragon placed fifth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 5:04.34.
Cedar Crest will conclude the Championships on Sunday, February 15 with the prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the finals at 4:00 p.m.
