ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team finished fifth at the Atlantic East Conference Championships, which concluded on Sunday. The Falcons recorded 249 points over the four-day event.
First-year
Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) was the lone Cedar Crest participant in the 200-yard backstroke, registering a prelim time of 3:11.82 and then clocked a time of 3:07.69 in the finals.
In the 100-yard freestyle, first-year
Nyasia Fernandez (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) touched in 1:08.62 in the prelims and 1:08.35 in the finals, placing tenth.
Junior
Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) tallied a four-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:42.68 in the prelims and 2:40.78 in the finals.
Sophomore
Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) was in the pool for the 200-yard butterfly, swimming a time of 3:12.80 in the prelims and 3:12.97 in the finals.
First-year
Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande) and senior
Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) were the Falcon representatives in the 1650-yard freestyle. Aragon touched tenth (23:07.63) and Reinhart followed in 11
th (24:31.25).
The Championships finished with the 400-yard freestyle relay and the team of Heusner, Cohen, Fernandez, and Reinhart took fifth in a time of 4:40.99.
The conclusion of the Championships marked the end of the season for Cedar Crest.
