BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team competed at the Coach P Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Moravian University.
In the shot put, senior
Alana Connor (Manassas, Va./Charles J. Colgan) took 18
th with a mark of 10.52 meters. First-year
Caterina Catizone (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) followed with a throw of 10.08 meters.
Connor finished 24
th in the hammer throw, registering a mark of 36.41 meters. Junior
Courtney Gibbons (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) threw 26.92 meters.
In the 100-meter dash prelims, sophomore
Alyssa Maldonado (Delmar, Md./Parkland) ran a time of 13.98 seconds.
The Falcons had two on the track in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Graduate student
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) finished in 14
th (14:54.88). Senior
Shayla Simek (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) clocked a time of 15:40.32.

Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch), first-year
Laila Stevenson (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial), sophomore
Emily Matoushek (Waymart, Pa./Forest City Regional), and first-year
Keyara Harriston (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) in the 4x100-meter relay recorded a time of 53.15 seconds.
The Falcons had four in the 400-meter dash finals. Stevenson led the way, crossing the finish line in 1:00.22, marking a program record. Sophomore
Mel Val (Tracy City, Tenn./St. Andrew's Sewanee) followed in 1:04.41. Sophomore
Emily Matoushek (Waymart, Pa./Forest City Regional) and Brooks clocked times of 1:11.07 and 1:11.70.

Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) was the lone Cedar Crest participant in the 800-meter run, registering a time of 2:37.76, setting a new program record.
Harriston ran the 200-meter dash for the Falcons and finished in a time of 28.27 seconds.
Connor led the way for Cedar Crest in the discus throw, taking third with a mark of 31.42 meters Catizone collected a mark of 27.37 meters. Sophomore
Symarah Drey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) registered a mark of 25.61 meters. Gibbons tallied a throw of 22.04 meters.
In the javelin, Catizone earned a mark of 27.03 meters. Drey followed with a throw of 25.72 meters.
Cedar Crest will have its final preparations before the United East Conference Championship Meet at the Blue Jay Tune-Up at Elizabethtown College on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.
