The Falcons took action on Monday night in a nonconference match up against Valley Forge Christian College. The win extended their streak to three games putting the Falcons at 7-4 on the year. The Falcons ran into little trouble sweeping the Patriots in three games 25-12, 25-19 and 25-16.
In the first set the Falcons continued their stellar play and flawless execution, hitting 0.291 as a team with no errors. The Patriots fought back in the second set causing the Falcons to push back and take the set 25-19. Lastly, in the third set the Falcons returned to dominance upending Valley Forge 25-16.
Senior Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr) led the team in kills, tallying 10 for the game with a 0.296 hitting average. Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) added 5 kills for the Falcons and teammate Denise Castillo (New Rochelle/New Rochelle High School) had 4 kills. Sophomore libero Ericka Clayton (Zionsville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) added 12 digs in the game while Jessica Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 11. Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) racked up 24 assists as she continues her dominance during her freshman season. Lobien, Grady, and Kiersten Collins (Forest City, PA/Forest City Regional) each added a solo block at crucial moments in the game to seal the sweep for the Falcons.
The Falcons take to the road again next Monday for a CSAC Conference battle with Baptist Bible College, which is slated to begin at 7p.m.
