Mules run away with Mule-Falcon Invitational as Cunfer places 6th

Allentown, PA – In the midst of cool temperatures, overcast skies and light ran, Cedar Crest hosted the annual Mule-Falcon Classic Cross Country Invitational.  In typical fashion, neighboring Muhlenberg College, repeated as the Women's division winner having six runners among the top 10 finishers.  Among them, Cedar Crest's own senior, Brittany Cunfer (Summit Hill, PA/Panther Valley) continued her torrid pace by placing 6thout of 72 finishers.

Cunfer's time of 17:12.06 was her personal best in the meet that was just under 5K.  In three meets this season, Cunfer has place 2nd at DelVal; 15th at the Highlander and now 6th in front of friends and family on her home course.  "Her performances have been off the charts," expressed Head Coach Ty Taylor, "it has been exciting to watch her compete these past three meets."

The remaining Falcons are continuing to show improvement led by sophomore, Genelle Davenport (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) crossed the finish line in 26th place with a time of 21:59.28; senior, DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) come in 45th at 25:30.70; junior, Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere), in her second meet placed 47th at 27:40.12 and freshman Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) and Victoria Eppright (Drexel Hill, PA/Delaware County Christian) rounded out the scoring in 48th & 50th with times of 28:16.26 and 30:26.46 respectively.

Next up for the Falcons is the College of Staten Island Invitational in Staten Island, New York in two weeks.
