Box Score

Set One:

The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team entered their second home game of the year still in search of their first win of the 2014 season.  Their pregame energy would prove effective as the Falcons would fall behind 14-4 before storming back scoring five straight points to find themselves just five down in set one.  Delaware Valley College would then put a run of their own together claiming two points before the Falcons would once again fight back to make it a four point set once again.  With the score 17-12, the Aggies and Falcons would both reel off two more each to force a score of 19-14.  Despite the Falcons going on a 5-0 run, including a huge Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) block and kill the Falcons would fall in set one 25-19.

Set Two:

Set two once again was another back and forth battle for the Falcons.  After jumping out to a 3-2 lead in set two, the Aggies led by Maria Cameron and Crystal Ronan would take back the lead with two straight points.  The Falcons would then fight back once again and after tying at 5-5 and then 7-7, the Falcons find themselves behind the Aggies by just two 11-9.

After a 7-6 run, with the Falcons down by just five (18-15), a spike by junior Ericka Clayton (Zionsville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) would push the score to 19-16.  Big plays by Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts), Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School), Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) and Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) were the main reason why the Falcons would storm back to stay within three with then score 24-21, the Aggies were forced to take a timeout.

With senior leader Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) serving, the Falcons then once again found themselves down by one, but a long serve saw that run come to an end with set two wrapping up at 25-23.

Set Three:

Set three saw the Falcons come out with the same energy that they finished off set two with.  However, Delaware Valley would find the ball over the net a few more times and jump out to a big 20-7 lead.  Kiersten Collins (Forest City, PA/Forest City Regional), playing in just her second game of the season, saw many of her attempted kills blocked by the Aggie defenders, who would continue their run and push the score in set three to 22-11 before closing out set three 25-11.

The Falcons fall to 0-6 overall and will host Rosemont on Thursday in their conference opener with game time set to begin at 7:00 pm.
