WILKES BARRE, Pa.---- The Cedar Crest College swim team opened their 2015-16 season with a tri-meet against host King's College while also competing agaisnt Cabrini College on Saturday.
The Falcons finished in third in the 200 medlay relay as sophomoresÂ
Taylor Marshall (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck ),Â
Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North ), freshman
Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ) and junior
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) teamed up and finished with a time of 2:11.28.
Lane won the 200 yard freestyle to earn the first win for the Black and Gold as she finished with a time of 2:11.41.
Lopez finished in fifth place for the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 29.37.
Lakshminarayanan and
Lane had back to back finishes in the 200 yard IM, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Lane finished third for the Falcons in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:35.83 while sophomore
TaylorÂ
Marshall finished fifth with a time of 2:42.50.
Lakshminarayanan finished the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:16.92 and a fourth place finish.
Lakshminarayanan finished third in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:53.53. To finish out the day for the Falcons,
Lane,
Lakshminarayanan, Marshall and
Lopez finished third in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:56.40.
The Falcons are set to swim again on Sunday November 8, as they host Sweet Briar College in their first home meet of the season in Rodale Aquatic Center the meet is set to start at 10:00 a.m.
