Falcons Earn Second Straight Win, 109-101

WASHINGTON, D.C.---The Cedar Crest  College swim team traveled to Gallaudet University earning their second win in a row this season with a score of 109 to 101 in favor of the Falcons.
 
The 200 yard medley relay team earned the first points for the Black and Yellow with a first place finish by junior Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall), freshman Casey Koutsothodoros (), sophomores Taylor Marshall (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck ) and Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ).
Sophomore Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North ) placed first with a time of 2:17.09 and Bryk placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:28.06.
 
Lakshminarayanan earned another first place finish for Cedar Crest in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:06.76. Junior Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) and Koutsothodoros had a back-to-back finish in the 100 yard breaststroke for 13 points with times of 1:13.47 and 1:31.92 for first and second place.  The 400 freestyle relay team earned another 11 points finishing first with a time of 4:23.22 as Lakshminarayanan, Olock and junior Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) and Liana Riutort (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg High School) finished 28 seconds faster than their competition.
 
Olock would win the 50 yard freestyle by a time of 24.90 as Lane took the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:32.60 with Marshall finishing behind her with a time of 2:47.03. Lane also placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.74. Sophomore Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ) finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.13 with Bryk right behind her with a time of 1:05.96.
 
The next meet for the Falcons is on Friday, December 4 as they begin the first day of the Drew Invitational that spans over three days.
