Swimming Faced Sweet Briar in First Home Meet

ALLENTOWN, Pa--- The Cedar Crest swim team fell in their first home meet of the season in Rodale Aquatic Center by a close, 97-92, match-up against non-conference Sweet Briar College on Sunday morning.

The Falcons took an early lead as Sophomore Taylor Marshall (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck ), Sophomore Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North ), Junior Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) and Junior Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) finished first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:06.25. Freshman, Casey Koutsothodoros () finished third for the Falcons in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 15:25.00. Lane and Junior Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) had back to back, top two finishes for the Falcons in the 200 yard freestyle with times of 2:13.16 and 2:25.95 respectively. Olock finished on top for the Falcons in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.32, just shy of her fastest time, while teammate Lopez finishing in third place with a time of 29.67.

Lakshminarayanan was the lone Falcon in the 200 yard IM and secured a first place finish with a time of 2:32.57. Marshall, the lone Falcon in the 100 yard butterfly, finished second with a time of 1:14.70. Lane finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.42. Marshall and Bryk had back to back, first and second place, finishes in the 100 yard backstroke with times of 1:17.27 and 1:18.41, respectively. Lakshminarayanan finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:06.57. Olock secured a close first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.29. To round out the day for the Black and Gold, the relay team of Ravneet Sandhu (), Koutsothodoros, Bryk and Lopez finished second in the 400 yard freestyle relay in 5:31.47.

The Black and Gold are set to hit the road on Saturday, November 14 as they head to Aurora, New York to take on Wells College in their first North Eastern Athletic Conference meet of the season with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
