ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swim team opened their 2016-17 season with a tri-meet against non-conference Cabrini University and King's College at Rodale Aquatic Center.
The Falcons broke four school records today as senior
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) broke the 100 and 200 backstroke school records.
Lane touched the pads at 1:07.10 beating the previous record of 1:10.47, she followed that up by breaking her own 200 backstroke time of 2:35.83 set last season with a time of 2:32.17.
Lane finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.62.
Freshman
Madison Wagner () set the school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:58.57.
Wagner also finished third in the 200 yard breaststroke touch at 2:58.78. Junior
Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North ) broke the 1000 freestyle record finishing at 12:40.07.
Lakshminarayanan took second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:37.75 while junior
Taylor Marshall (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck ) took fourth with a time of 3:11.40.

Natalie Bennington (/Scranton) finished fourth touching the pads at 2:10.23. The 200 yard freestyle relay team also finished fourth with a time of 2:17.19 with the team including
Marshall and freshman
Hannah Schauber (),
Cassandra Rejgers and
Dawn Cortright (/Warrenhills Regional ).
The next meet for the Falcons is on Friday, November 4 as they travel to Sweet Briar College for a noon start in non-conference action.
