KUTZTOWN, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College swim team finished this semester at Division II Kutztown University, the team lost 110-76 on Saturday afternoon.
In the 1000 yard freestyle junior
Nithya Lakshminarayanan finished second with a time of 12:50.00 while senior
Hali Sampson (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) finished third, clocking in at 15:00.78. Freshman
Madison Wagner (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) came in fourth while freshman
Natalie Bennington (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) came in fifth in the 200 yard freestyle.
Wagner had a time of 2:19.07, and
Bennington finished at 2:32.28. In the 50 yard freestyle senior
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) touched at 27.82 for a third place finish while freshman
Dawn Cortright (Oxford, N.J./Warrenhills Regional ) took fourth with a time of 29.86.
Lakshminarayanan took fourth in the 100 yard IM finishing at 1:13.23 as freshman
Cassandra Rejgers touched at 1:34.61 for a fifth place finish. Wagner and junior
Taylor Marshall (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck ) took fourth and fifth place in the 50 yard butterfly,
Wagner with a time of 30.81 and
Marshall 32.57. Senior
Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) took third in the 100 yard freestyle touching at 56.94, and
Cortright took fifth in the event with a time of 1:05.61.
In the 50 yard backstroke the Falcons finished in second, third and fourth.
Lane touching first at 32.26,
Marshall would finish next at 35.05 and sophomore
Tiffany Cuth (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) finished at 45.29.
Bennington finished first in the 500 yard freestyle at 6:52.27 while
Sampson took second at 7:27.81. Cedar Crest took the top three spots in the 50 yard breaststroke,
Olock taking first with a time of 32.11 while
Rejgers took second clocking at 45.28 and freshman
Dominique Player (Baltimore, Md./Mergenthaler Votech) taking third at 50.46. Rounding out the meet the 200 yard relay team of
Cortright,
Bennington,
Rejgers and
Marshall took first with a time of 1:45.63.
The next meet for the team is on Saturday, January 14 as they travel to Saint Joseph's College in Brooklyn.
