ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College swim team had their home opener in a tri-meet with fellow North Eastern Athletic Conference Wells College and Gallaudet University. They defeated both teams, taking the Express, 129-85, and the Bison 137-96 on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons opened the meet with a first place finish in the 200 Medley Relay as freshman
Autumn Kidulic (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), senior
Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North ), senior
Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ), and freshman
Tessa Stegura (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke) finished at 2:11.54. Freshman
Emily Klenk (Denver, CO/Monarch) finished first ahead of four other swimmers in the 1000 freestyle 13:12.74 while
Lakshminarayanan also added a first place finish for the team in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:16.63. Cedar Crest took second and third in the 50 Backstroke as freshman
Emily Badman (Pennsburg, Pa./Perkiomen) finished at 35.66, and freshman
Sierra Ressler (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) touched at 36.06.
Lopez finished second in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 41.75 while sophomore
Marissa Madson (/Franklin) finished fifth with at time of 50.01.
Kidulic took first in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:10.68 while
Stegura and
Ressler took second and fourth in the 50 Freestyle touching the pads at 29.43 and 30.88. Taking first in the 100 Freestyle was
Lakshminarayanan at 1:02.57 while two Falcons finished second and fourth in the 100 Backstroke,
Badman finished at 1:17.31 while
Ressler came in at 1:24.01.
In the 100 Breaststroke,
Kidulic placed first with a time of 1:16.68,
Madson took fifth at 1:54.94.
Stegura and
Klenk took the one and two spot finishing the 500 freestyle event at 6:29.20, and 6:34.50.
Lopez took second in the 50 Butterfly coming in at 32.27 while in the final individual event
Lakshminarayanan took first with a time of 1:11.55 and
Badman took second touching in at 1:22.32 in the 100 IM. Cedar Crest finished the meet on a high note, taking first place in the 200 Freestyle Relay clocking in at 1:58.18 was
Kidulic,
Lopez,
Ressler, and
Stegura.
The next meet for the Falcons is on Saturday, November 18 in a tri-meet at Cazenovia against the Wildcats and Roberts Wesleyan College, meet starts at 1:00 p.m.
