Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College volleyball team began the 2017 season with a 3-0 sweep of Penn State University Lehigh Valley, winning the sets by scores of 25-7, 25-4 and 25-14 on Friday evening.

Freshman outside hitter Kiley Elrod led the attack with eight kills, she added two serves aces and four digs on the court. Sophomore middle hitter Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) added six kills while freshman outside hitter Erica Nettles (Pottsville, Pa./Minersville Area) had a team-high of five service aces, adding two kills and three digs.

Freshman setter Devyn Crowder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) paced the Falcons with 13 assists, fellow freshman defensive specialist Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) recorded a team-high of 12 digs, also adding two service aces on the night. Freshman middle/right side hitter Elyse Podgurski (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) had three solo blocks and three kills.

The next match for the Falcons is at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5 at non-conference Wilson College.
