ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College swim team defeated the St. Joseph College of Long Island in their final home meet of the season by a score of 157-103 Friday afternoon.
In the first event, the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the Falcons placed first with a time of 2:09.76. In the 1000-yard Freestyle,
Emily Klenk finished first with a time of 13:22.86. The third event was the 200-yard Freestyle, which both
Nithya Lakshminarayanan and
Marissa Madson participated placing second and fourth respectively.
Lakshminarayanan completed the heat in 2:19.15 and
Madson finished in 3:14.93
Autumn Kidulic and
Anastasia Dalja "Romona were the only two competing in the 200-Yard IM, with
Kidulic finishing in 2:35.02 and
Dalja in 3:15.21. The fifth event of the meet was the 50-yard Backstroke that had
Emily Badman and
Rachel Barrett place second and third place.
Badman finished in 36.56 and
Barrett close behind at 36.69. In the 50-yard Breaststroke, the Falcons placed two in the top three with
Cassandra Reijgers completing the heat in 41.67 and
Tiffany Cuth coming in at 41.70.
Klenk also finished in fifth with a time of 46.98.
The next event was the 100-yard Butterfly that saw
Madison Wagner claim first place with a time of 1:12.80.
Sierra Ressler was the first to touch the wall in the 50-yard Freestyle event, as she finished in 30.35 seconds.
Barrett and
Madson also participated in the event placing fourth and fifth.
Lakshminarayanan was the only swimmer in the 400-yard IM and she finished in 5:39.69.
Cuth and
Ressler placed second and third in the 100-yard Freestyle as the 100-yard Backstroke consisted of three Falcons,
Olivia Lopez placed first in a time of 1:18.18,
Badman in 1:19.91 and
Barrett in 1:27.03.
In the 100-yard Breaststroke,
Reijgers touching at 1:33.04 and
Madson at 1:48.14. A pair of second and fourth place finishes for the Falcons in to 500-yard Freestyle event that had
Klenk finished in 6:38.81 and
Dalja with a time of 8:12.48. Cedar Crest placed second and third in the 50-yard Butterfly with
Ressler completing the event in 35.30 and
Reijgers in 45.46 seconds. The 100-yard IM consisted of just two Falcons with
Wagner placing first with a time of 1:15.83 and
Badman touching at 1:23.58.
In the final event of the afternoon, Cedar Crest had two squads partake in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay and placed second and third. The squad that placed second in a time of 4:28.90, consisted of
Lakshminarayanan,
Klenk,
Kidulic, and
Wagner while group that finished third had
Cuth, Barrett, Dalja, and
Badman.
The next meet for the Falcons is in two weeks, on January 27, where the Falcons will travel to Drew University for a tri-meet including Goucher College and the host Drew University. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
