KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Swim and Dive team suffered its first blemish of the 2018-19 season with a 88-116 loss to Division II Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon.
The first event for the Falcons was the 200-yard Medley Relay which had Rachel Barrett (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie), Mackenzie Inacker (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood), Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ) and Ella Archer (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Seton Catholic) combine for a time of 2:16.25. In the next event, the 1000-yard Freestyle, Mariah Stoppie (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area) came in third with a time of 13:22.14. Inacker took the third spot in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 2:19.96 followed by Archer with 2:48.24.
Ramona Dalja was the lone Falcon in the 50-yard Breaststroke with a time of 42.65. Dominique Player (Baltimore, Md./Mergenthaler) and Brenna Desborough (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan ) took forth and fifth place in the 100-yard Freestyle with the times of 1:24.80 and 1:31.91.
Barrett and Dalja competed in the 100-Yard IM and finished with times of 1:28.17 and 1:32.87. The last event of the meet for Cedar Crest was the 400-yard Freestyle Relay that had Inacker, Archer, Lopez and Stoppie finish in 4:34.63 to fall to the Golden Bears 88-116.
This has been the Falcon's best finish against Kutztown University in it's program history.
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, December 8th and 9th as they host the Falcon Invitational. The first event is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM at Rodale Aquatic Center. The invitational will include diving which will be held on Sunday, December 9th starting at 11:00 AM.
