Bryn Mawr, Pa. --- The Falcons clinched their first win of the season against Immaculata in a double-dual non-conference meet held at Bryn Mawr. Cedar Crest defeated the Mighty Macs 86-78 while the Falcons fell to the Owls 164-32.
The first event for the falcons was the 200-yard medley relay which had
Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J. /Columbia High School ),
Audra Bratis (Doylestown, Pa/PA Leadership Charter School ),
Nyla Boulware (Whitehall Pa./Whitehall), and
Ember Kriner (Lancaster, Pa ) combine for a time of 2:14.35 finishing third against the Owls and a first-place finish against Immaculata. Again, this week, rookie,
Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional ) was impressive in her long-distance event, the 1000-yard freestyle, outtouching Mighty Mac Catherine Wiest by 0.13 seconds and finishing with a time of 12:51.40.
Mackenzie Inacker (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) was the lone Falcon in the 200-yard freestyle finishing first against the Mighty Macs in 2:21.34.
Freshman,
Bratis had an impressive race in the 50-yard freestyle touching just before an Immaculata swimmer and claiming a second-place finish against the Mighty Macs with a time of 34.95 while teammate
Abigail Trettin (Tuckerton, NJ) followed two places behind and finished in 38.18.
Berry was the lone Falcon in the 200-yard individual medley finishing in 3:00.12.
Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa ) was also the only Cedar Crest swimmer in the 200-yard butterfly finishing with a time of 2:45.35.
Inacker swam the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.79 giving her a first-place finish against Immaculata.
Bratis and
Trettin also competed in this event and finished in 1:24.90 and 1:33.57 respectively.
Berry and
Kriner swam the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:53.42 and 3:04.51.
The 500-yard freestyle featured freshmen
Alulis, 6:18.72, and
Mower, 6:21.87, who finished first and third against Immaculata. For the last individual event of the meet
Trettin was the sole Falcon in the 200-yard breaststroke finishing with a time of 4:27.61 giving her a second-place finish against the Mighty Macs and a third-place finish again the Owls. Wrapping up the meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Inacker, Boulware, Mower, and
Alulis finished in 2:02.30.
The Falcons have an overall record of 1-2, all in non-conference matchups. They will take a much needed by-week allowing the team to recover from injuries and give fall athletes time to finish their season and return to swimming. They will come back just in time for another double-dual meet against NEAC teams Cazenovia and Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. on November 16
th at 1:00 PM.
