Swimming Splits Double-Dual Meet

TEAM RESULTS | INDIVIDUAL EVENT RESULTS

ALLENTOWN, Pa. –
The Cedar Crest swim team split their double-dual meet at Rodale Aquatic Center, defeating Gallaudet University, 157-66, but fell to St. Mary's College of Maryland, 154-69, on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons move to 1-4 overall on the season.

 The 200-yard Medley Relay led off the day, which Cedar Crest had two squads compete. The first team to touch the wall was junior Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), junior Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), sophomore Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior), and junior Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia), finishing at 2:18.88. The other relay team of freshman Ashley Large (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit), sophomore Julianne Redmond (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown Community), freshman Maggie Alder (Hackettstown, N.J./Warren Hills Regional ), and sophomore Ava Leibold (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights ) placed fourth with a time 2:24.39.  

 The next event was the 1000-yard Freestyle that had Mower and Alder involved, finishing at 12:58.16 and 13.53.57, respectively. Placing first in the 200-yard Freestyle was Fiedler, finishing the laps in 2:08.60, with Large finishing in 2:48.55. During the 100-yard Backstroke, Mower finished in third with a time of 1:13.84 while Berry touched in 1:16.58.

Freshman Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del. /Newark) claimed third in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:23.77 and Leibold finished over seven seconds later at 1:30.83. Alulis was the lone Falcon to swim the 200-yard Butterfly, placing first in a time of 2:50.88. Berry took second in the 50-yard Freestyle while Davis followed in fourth. Large and Redmond placed third and fourth in the 100-yard Freestyle, with times of 1:12.92 and 1:14.54. Mower and Redmond took second and third in the 200-yard Backstroke while Alder had placed third in the 500-yard Freestyle.

The next event for the Falcons was the 100-yard Butterfly, which saw Davis finishing third with a time of 1:17.41. Alulis placed second in the 200-yard IM with her time of 2:39.47.

The final event of the day for Cedar Crest was the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Fiedler, Davis, Large, and Berry placed third with a time of 1:59.73 while Alder, Alulis, Redmond, and Leibold teamed up for a fourth-place finish in a time of 2:08.94.   

Cedar Crest will have a long break and will return to action on Saturday, January 8 at St. Joseph's College – Long Island for a dual meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
