Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior), of the Cedar Crest College swim and diving program, received Second-Team All-Conference Awards for two events in the Atlantic East Conference End of Season Awards, announced on Friday afternoon.
The Falcons competed in the Atlantic East Championships for the first time this past weekend as an affiliate member, as they were previously an associate member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) since 2014. Cedar Crest was one of three hosts in this year's conference championships, hosting Immaculata at the Rodale Aquatic Center for three sessions over two days.
Fiedler claimed Second-Team All-Conference honors, in which she broke the Cedar Crest school-record in those events. In the 500-yard Freestyle, she finished 22 seconds behind the top swimmer, with a time of 5:47.61.
Fiedler broke the school-record in the 1650-yard Freestyle event by 20 seconds, coming in at a time of 20:04.65, finishing one minute and twenty-three seconds behind the top finisher. Fiedler also competed in the 400-yard and 200-yard Medley Relays, as well as the 800-yard and 400-yard Freestyle Relays.
The Black and Yellow would finish in sixth place in their first go-round in the Atlantic East Swimming Championships, finishing with 272 points. Claiming the title was St. Mary's College of Maryland with 721.5 points. Cabrini University finished in second with 608 points, followed by Marymount University with 462.5 points. Marywood University ended in fourth place with 430 points and Immaculata finished with 313 points.
