SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College cross country team took second place at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Preview Meet, hosted by Keystone College on Saturday morning at McDade Park.
The Falcons tallied a team total of 41 points. Eastern University placed first with 16 points. Cairn (78), St. Elizabeth (99), and Notre Dame (Md.) (121) rounded out the scoring.
The top Falcon finisher, freshman
Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome), finished in eight place in a time 29:02. Junior
Emily Kern (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area), sophomore
Lillie Jones (Wilmington, Del./DelCastle Technical), and junior
Saige Sterner (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) finished in 11
th, 12
th, and 13
th, respectively. Sophomore
Abbey DiOrio (Shamokin, Pa./Shamokin Area) and freshman
Jessica Simins (Phillipsburg, N.J./West Morris Central) placed 16
th and 17
th.
Junior
Christina Alberici (Shelton, Conn./Shelton), sophomore
Carolyn Weiss (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central), and junior
Carolina Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside Senior High School) also completed the race and rounded out the Falcons' lineup.
Cedar Crest will next run in the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at on Saturday, September 25 at 11:15 a.m. at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
