INDIVIDUAL EVENT RESULTS | TEAM RESULTS
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest swimming and diving team was defeated by Atlantic East Conference opponent Immaculata University and non-conference opponent Juniata College on Saturday afternoon at the Rodale Aquatic Center. The Falcons fell to the Mighty Macs, 135-111, and to the Eagles, 153-83.
The meet started with the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del. /Newark), and Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) finished third with a time of 2:14.20. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior) and Mower placed second and third with respective times of 11:57.64 and 12:56.31. finished in third place with a time of 13:01.62. Ashley Large (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit) (2:44.07), Rebekah Carty (Quakertown, Pa./21st Century Cyber Charter ) (2:47.54), and Schwieterman (3:00.11) all swam in the 200-yard freestyle.
Berry was the lone Falcon in the 100-yard backstroke and finished with a time of 1:15.49. In the 100-yard breaststroke Davis finished in 1:21.40 and Alulis in 1:22.76. Corrine McClain (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) took fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 3:15.44 and Ramona Dalja (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) placed fifth with a time of 3:33.58. For the 50-yard freestyle the Falcons had both Davis and Berry in the event. Davis took third in a time of 29.53 and Berry finished fourth in a time of 29.93.
Fiedler and McClain were the two Cedar Crest swimmers in the next event, the 100-yard freestyle. Fiedler finished first (1:01.01) followed by McClain in fifth (1:20.46). Mower was the lone Falcon in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing third in a time of 2:37.39.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Alulis finished second with a time of 3:00.12 and Dalja in fifth with a time of 3:30.29. Fielder took second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:54.28) followed by Mower in fourth (6:30.91). Large and McClain placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100-yard butterfly.
In event 25 of the afternoon, the 200-yard IM, Alulis was fourth (2:37.40), followed by Davis in fifth (2:43.28).
The final event of the meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Cedar Crest team of Berry, Large, Carty, and Fiedler finished fourth in a time a 2:08.23.
Cedar Crest will travel to Kutztown University on Saturday, January 29 for its final tune-up before the Atlantic East Conference Championships. The meet is slated for 1:00 p.m. The Falcons are currently 1-8 overall and 1-5 in conference action
