RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming and diving team traveled to Kutztown University on Saturday for its final meet of the regular season and fell to the Bears in a 125-93 final.
The first event of the meet was the 200-yard medley relay. The Falcon team of
Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional),
Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del. /Newark),
Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), and
Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior) took second with a time of 2:13.08. In the 1000-yard freestyle,
Rebekah Carty (Quakertown, Pa./21st Century Cyber Charter ) placed second (14:36.24).
Mower finished third in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a 2:18.07, followed by
Joslyn Schwieterman (Portland, Maine/Baxter Academy) (2:52.33), and
Corrine McClain (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) (2:58.10).
Ashley Large (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit) was the first Cedar Crest swimmer to finish in the 100-yard backstroke, tallying a time of 1:24.74 in third place. Schwieterman came in behind Large with a final time of 1:43.62. Davis,
Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia), and Carty took fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke.
McClain was the lone Falcon in the 200-yard butterfly and registered a time of 3:24.24. Fiedler took second in the next event, the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 28:15. Davis and Berry recorded times of 30.46 and 30.65, respectively.
Three Cedar Crest swimmers competed in the 100-yard freestyle. Alulis was the first Falcon to finish, placing third 1:05.77. Large (1:15.11) and Carty (1:20.15) rounded out the event.
Mower was the only Falcon in the 200-yard backstroke, placing fourth with a final time of 2:32.64. Alulis took third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 3:02.12.
Fiedler registered the one of four event victories of the afternoon for Cedar Crest, taking first place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.61). Large and Schwieterman came in second (7:11.84) and third (7:58.55), respectively. McClain finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:40.56), while Mower took first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:37.57.
In the final event of the afternoon, the Falcons had the top two finishing teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Alulis, Berry, Fiedler, and Davis registered a first-place finish (1:57.64). The team of Carty, Large, McClain, and Schwieterman combined for a time of 2:21.66.
Cedar Crest will now prepare for the Atlantic East Conference Championships, which are set to take place February 11-13, and will be hosted by the Saint Mary's College of Maryland.
