ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming and diving team secured a pair of victories on Saturday morning, topping Immaculata University 122-118, and Moravian University, 136-81 at the Rodale Aquatic Center.
The Falcons started with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of junior
Abbey Mower (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), senior
Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), sophomore
Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del./Newark), and junior Megan Fielder finished in 2:14.58.
Mower followed by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle, completing the event in 13:00.59.
Fiedler took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a finals time of 2:10.17. First-year Meghan Drum took fourth in the event with a time of 2:32.46.
Event four was the 100-yard backstroke. Junior
Zaria Berry (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) placed fourth, completing the event in 1:15.31.
The Falcons won the 100-yard breaststroke, with Davis taking first with a time of 1:21.73. Drum followed in fourth, clocking a time 1:26.31.
Cedar Crest won the next event, with Alulis capturing the 200-yard butterfly in 2:50.05. Junior
Corrine McClain (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) was the other Falcons' student-athlete in the event, finishing in 3:19.98.
Cedar Crest had a pair of top-five finishers in the 50-yard freestyle with Berry and Davis taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Fiedler took first in the 100-yard freestyle, completing the event 1:00.11, for the Falcons' fifth event win of the day.
Mower had another strong event, placing second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:36.46.
Alulis and Drum took second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Fielder captured another top finish, this time in the 500-yard freestyle, completing the event in 5:56.26. Sophomore
Rebekah Carty (Quakertown, Pa./21st Century Cyber Charter) also competed in and took fourth.
McClain and first-year Madison Smith were the two participants in the 100-yard butterfly while Mower and Alulis took second and third in the 200-yard individual medley.
The day concluded with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Berry, Drum, Carty, and Davis finished in 1:57.12.
Cedar Crest (2-2 overall, 1-0 Atlantic East) will travel to Marymount University on Saturday, November 5 for a double dual with the Saints and the University of Mary Washington at 1:00 p.m.
