GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team took part in the Mid-Week Twilight Invitational hosted by Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday afternoon. The meet was called after four events due to inclement weather.
In the shot put event, junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) placed ninth with a mark of 8.48 meters. Freshman
Heaven Bethea (Boynton Beach, Fla./South Tech Academy ) also competed in the event, throwing for a mark of 5.53 meters.
Freshman
Tiffany Kuras (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) had another solid performance in the javelin event, finishing in second place with a mark of 33.06 meters. Classmate
Rebecca Verdi (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill ) threw for a mark of 18.48 meters, placing 11
th.
In the lone track event of the afternoon before the meet was called, senior
Brittney Dunleavy (Auburn, Pa./Blue Mountain) turned in a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:17.68.
The Falcons will return to action at the Coach P Invitational, hosted by Moravian University, which is set to take place April 22-23.
