RESULTS
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team competed at the Muhlenberg Invitational hosted by Muhlenberg College on Saturday. The Falcons collected 10 points in the meet.
"Overall, the coaching staff is really happy with how things went today," stated Head Coach
Alec Duncan, "We had five individual personal bests across six events, in addition to some student-athletes competing in new events. We also have two new school records in the discus and javelin. When you have a day like that as a team, it's a good sign."
Starting with the throw events, junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) placed seventh in the discus, throwing for a personal record and school record of 33.37 meters.
Freshman
Tiffany Kuras (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) finished as the runner-up in the javelin, tallying a school record of 36.53 meters. She also competed in the discus, registering an 18
th-place finish with a mark of 26.83 meters.
Heading into the track events, freshman
Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) secured a personal record in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:40.67. Junior
Emily Kern (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) also participated in the event, running in a time of 5:48.08.
Freshman
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman ) collected personal records in the 100 and 200 meter events with respective times of 15.00 and 31.65 seconds.
Senior
Brittney Dunleavy (Auburn, Pa./Blue Mountain) registered a personal best in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:13.11. Junior
Carolina Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside Senior) also ran in the event for the Falcons.
Junior
Saige Sterner (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) closed out the personal bests with a PR of 3:02.28 in the 800-meter run.
Cedar Crest will next compete in the Ursinus Outdoor Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
