Swimming Tops Lebanon Valley, Falls to Bryn Mawr

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team split a pair of decisions on Saturday afternoon at the Rodale Aquatic Center, topping Lebanon Valley College, 126-95, and was defeated by Bryn Mawr College, 167-77.

The meet started with the 200-yard medley relay. The team of senior Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior), first-year Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), first-year Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury), and senior Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) finished second with a time of 2:09.22.

Fiedler was back in the pool for the 1,000-yard freestyle and clocked a time of 12:35.56.

Gil won the 200-yard freestyle, touching in 2:06.20. Classmates Courtney Marks (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) and Erin Walsh (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) finished with times of 3:00.3 and 3:09.17, respectively.

Cedar Crest had two competitors in the 100-yard backstroke. First-year Jessica Keogh (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) took sixth (1:57.84) while classmate Jessica Shults (Staten Island, N.Y./New Dorp) finished in 2:10.95.

The Falcons had a pair swim in the 100-yard breaststroke. Heusner finished third with a time of 1:17.72 while junior Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del./Newark) swam a time of 1:27.55.

Alulis was the lone Cedar Crest swimmer in the 200-yard butterfly, taking third with a time of 3:00.23.

The Falcons had five compete in the 50-yard freestyle. Davis finished sixth (31.41), followed by Walsh in seventh (36.95). Marks had a time of 41.50 and then Shults recorded a time of 50.42.

Gil took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.49 seconds. Fiedler finished the event in fourth in a time of 1:02.40.

Marks was the lone swimmer for the Falcons in the 200-yard backstroke, taking sixth with a time of 3:26.61.

Heusner and Alulis were back in action in the 200-yard breaststroke. Heusner was fourth (2:56.42), followed by Alulis (3:09.52).

Cedar Crest had two compete in the 500-yard freestyle. Fiedler finished second with a time of 6:04.62 while Walsh clocked a time of 8:27.36.

The Falcons swam Alulis and Davis in the 100-yard butterfly. Alulis touched second (1:16.88) followed by Davis in fourth (1:24.75).

Gil took second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:25.05. Heusner finished two spots behind with a time of 2:43.85.

Cedar Crest closed the meet with a third and seventh-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Fiedler, Alulis, Heusner, and Gil finished third with a time of 1:55.71. The team of Keogh, Walsh, Marks, and Davis clocked a time of 2:26.59.

Cedar Crest (1-3 overall) will travel to Marymount University for an Atlantic East Conference meet with the Saints and Marywood University on Saturday, November 4 at noon.
