BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team participated in the Coach P Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Moravian University.
In the 100-meter dash, first-year
Olivia Wanner (Lyons, Pa./Kutztown Area) posted a time of 14.33 seconds. Senior Joslyn Schwiertman also took part in the event, clocking a time of 19.27.
Sophomore
Jess Simins (Phillipsburg, N.J./Warren Tech) led the Falcons in the 400-meter dash, finshing in 1:17.76. Senior
Carolina Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside Senior) ran the event in 1:33.08 while Schwieterman followed behind (1:42.08).
Sophomore
Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) was the lone Cedar Crest participant in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line in 22:50.63.
The Falcons had three runners in the 100-meter hurdles. First-year
Olivia Horninger (Friedens, Pa./Northern Lehigh) was the first to finish for the Falcons in 20.02 seconds. Classmate
Gaudy Reinoso (Jersey City, N.J./Lincoln) came in right behind at 20.38 seconds while sophomore
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) clocked a time of 20.47 seconds.
Reinoso and Sabir were back in action in the 400-meter hurdles. Reinoso clocked a time of 1:28.40 while Sabir finished in 1:40.29.
Junior
Olivia Kelly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) was the lone participant in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She registered a time of 16:43.50.
Cedar Crest had a team compete in the 4x100-meter relay. The team of sophomore
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman), Wanner, Sabir, and first-year
Ellise Everett (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) took seventh with a time of 55.61 seconds.
Everett took part in the high jump and recorded a mark of 1.30 meters.
Riley was back in action in the in the long jump, registering a distance of 4.20 meters.
First-year
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) had a stand-out performance in the discus throw, taking third with a throw of 31.83 meters.
Senior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) recorded a 15
th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 9.78 meters. Bozen also took part in the event and registered a mark of 9.46 meters. First-year
Sadie Trubilla (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) took a mark of 7.80 meters in the event.
Schouppe led the Falcons in the hammer throw, taking 14
th with a mark of 35.75 meters. Sophomore
Heaven Bethea (Boynton Beach, Fla./South Tech Academy) joined Schouppe in the event and recorded a mark of 19.40 meters.
Trubilla paced Cedar Crest in the javelin, throwing for a mark of 30.49 meters, just missing the top-10. Classmate
Camryn Snyder (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) was 15
th with a distance of 27.04 meters followed by Bozen in 17
th (25.25 meters).
Cedar Crest will return to action on Saturday, April 29 at the Monarch Open hosted by King's College (Pa.).
