WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Cedar Crest College track & field team took fourth place at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships, hosted by Gallaudet University. The Falcons registered 61 total points over the two-day event.
In the first event of the day, junior
Olivia Kelly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) finished fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 16:05.98.
The team of sophomore
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman), first-year
Olivia Wanner (Lyons, Pa./Kutztown Area), sophomore
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T), and first-year
Ellise Everett (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) crossed the line fourth, clocking a time of 56.73 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay.
First-year
Olivia Horninger (Friedens, Pa./Northern Lehigh) took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.21. Sabir followed in seventh, crossing in 20.21 seconds, followed by first-year
Gaudy Reinoso (Jersey City, N.J./Lincoln) in 20.55 seconds.
Sophomore
Jess Simins (Phillipsburg, N.J./Warren Tech) paced the Falcons in the 400-meter dash, recording a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:13.37. Senior
Carolina Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside Senior) was tenth in the event (1:31:44), followed by classmate
Joslyn Schwieterman (Portland, Maine/Baxter Academy) (1:45.74).
Everett was the lone Cedar Crest participant in the 100-meter dash final, finishing seventh with a time of 13.97 seconds.
The Falcons had a pair of runners in the 400-meter hurdles. First-year
Gaudy Reinoso (Jersey City, N.J./Lincoln) was fifth, recording a time of 1:26.30. Sabir came in seventh (1:32.84).
Everett was back on the track for the 200-meter dash. She registered two points, crossing the line in a time of 28.18, which was fifth place.
Sophomore
Jonquil Loeffelholz (Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) recorded a top-five finish in the 5000-meter run, taking fourth by clocking a time of 22:32.92.
Cedar Crest's relay team of Wanner, Simins, Kelly, and Riley finished third in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 5:03.05.
Everett collected her third top-five finish of the day when she was fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.32 meters.
Horninger and Riley were the Falcons that participated in the long jump event. Horninger was ninth with a mark of 4.40 meters while Riley was 11
th (4.32 meters).
Cedar Crest had five student-athletes in the shot put. Senior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) took fourth with a mark of 10.57 meters. Sophomore
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) was eighth with a throw of 8.66 meters. First-year
Sadie Trubilla (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) (7.25 meters), Schwieterman (6.04 meters), and sophomore
Heaven Bethea (Boynton Beach, Fla./South Tech Academy) (5.57 meters) rounded the Falcons in the event.
Schouppe took third place in the hammer throw event, registering a mark of 37.01 meters. Bethea was seventh with a throw 20.96 meters.
