Swimming Defeats Cabrini and Immaculata in Regular Season Finale

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team picked up a pair of conference wins, defeating Immaculata University, 94-90, and Cabrini University in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The meet started with the 200-yard medley relay and the Falcons' team of senior Megan Fiedler (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior), first-year Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), first-year Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury), and graduate student Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) posted a time of 2:08.96 to finish first.

Cedar Crest had two swimmers in the pool for the 1000-yard freestyle. Fiedler took second with a time of 12:22.12. First-year Erin Walsh (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) followed in fifth (16:42.85).

Gil won the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 2:12.59.

Heusner was the first to touch in the 50-yard freestyle with her time of 27.84 seconds. Junior Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del./Newark) was third in the event, touching in 29.95 seconds.

Gil captured her second event of the afternoon, winning the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.85. Alulis registered a fourth-place finish in the event (2:42.45).

Alulis and senior Corrine McClain were in the pool for the 100-yard butterfly. Alulis was second (1:15.61) and McClain took third (1:36.11).

Walsh was the lone participant for the Falcons in the 100-yard freestyle. She swam the event in 1:20.87, which was good enough for third place.

McClain and first-year Jessica Keogh (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) went two-three in the 100-yard backstroke. McClain recorded a time of 1:34.98, while Keogh swam a time of 1:50.82.

Fiedler registered a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 6:00:15. Keogh touched fifth with a time of 8:26.03.

The Falcons had two of the top three finishers in the 100-yard breaststroke. Heusner won the event, recording a time of 1:15.29. Davis was third (1:24.85).

In the last event of the afternoon, the team of Walsh, McClain, Keogh, and Davis took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:21.70.

Cedar Crest (6-5 overall, 5-1 Atlantic East) will now turn its attention to preparing for the Atlantic East Conference Championships, which will take place at St. Mary's College of Maryland from February 16 through 18.
