Swimming Competes at Golden Bear Last Chance Invitational

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team competed at the Golden Bear Last Chance Invitational, hosted by Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon at the Keystone Natatorium. There was no team scoring for the event.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of junior Taylor Davis (Wilmington, Del./Newark), first-year Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), first-year Camila Gil (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury), and graduate student Rachael Alulis (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) swam a time of 2:08.62.

The Falcons had a pair of participants in the next event, the 1650-yard freestyle. First-year Erin Walsh (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) took fourth with a time of 26:35.06, while classmate Jessica Keogh (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) touched in 28:36.48.

Cedar Crest went three-four in the 200-yard freestyle. Alulis was third (2:25.75), while senior Charlie McClain (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) touched in 2:58.57.

Heusner was the lone Falcon in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing fourth in a time of 1:14.59.

Cedar Crest had three in the pool for the 50-yard freestyle. Gil took third (26.84 seconds). Heusner followed in fourth (27.29 seconds). Alulis swam a time of 29.64 seconds to place fifth.

The Falcons had three participants in the 100-yard freestyle event. Gil touched third with a time of 58.43 seconds. Heusner was seventh (1:04.98). Davis took eighth (1:13.77).

Cedar Crest had the lone two swimmers in the 200-yard breaststroke. Gil took first in the event with her time of 2:45.25. Alulis finished second, touching in 3:03.07.

Walsh was the only Falcon in the pool for the 500-yard freestyle. The first-year posted a time of 7:45.77 to place fourth.

Cedar Crest had both participants in the 200-yard IM. Heusner touched first in a time of 2:43.65 while Davis was second (2:56.57).

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Alulis, Davis, Gil, and Heusner finished third in a time of 4:29.80.

 Cedar Crest will now prepare for the Atlantic East Conference Championships, which will take place at St. Mary's College of Maryland from February 16 through 18.
