ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College wrestling team cruised to a 40-9 victory over Kean University on Tuesday night at Lees Gymnasium.
The Falcons won seven matches by fall and one by forfeit to secure the win.
The Cougars got on the board first when first-year Daphne Edwards (Philadelphia, Pa.) topped first-year
Mary Lopes (Barnet, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) by fall at 103.
Cedar Crest captured the bouts at 110 and 117 by fall. Junior
Leilani Martinez (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township Senior) pinned first-year Gianna DeThomas (Audubon, N.J.) in 1:31 at 110, while at 117, first-year
Andi Bibeau (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) only needed 18 seconds to pin first-year Domenica Fiallos (Newark, N.J.).
Kean took the match at 124 as junior Kaydence Oakley (Wildwood, N.J.) got by sophomore
Arianna Gonzalez (Fallsburg, N.Y./Fallsburg Junior Senior) by tech fall to cut the deficit to one, 10-9.
The Falcons won the next five matches by fall to extend its lead to 35-9.
At 131, first-year
Madacyn Snyder (Wind Gap, Pa./Pen Argyl) pinned first-year Nina Lojano (Jersey City, N.J.) in 2:13. Senior
Adriana Dias (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) picked up a win by fall at 138 over first-year Celine Asare (Hamilton, N.J.) in 2:19.

Alaina Stanford (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney), senior
Draydon Charman (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township), and junior
Janeyda Ortiz (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) followed with victories via fall at 145, 160, and 180, respectively.
Stanford pinned first-year Je'Syah Williams (Newark, N.J.) in 1:56, Charman topped first-year Kaylee Borge (North Brunswick, N.J.) in 1:44, while it took just 52 seconds for Ortiz to pin first-year Aylin Calle (Hamilton, N.J.).
Junior
Sarah Seltzer (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) rounded out the scoring with a victory via forfeit at 207 for the 40-9 final.
In an extra match at 145, Williams defeated first-year
Samantha Goworek (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) by fall while in an extra match at 160, sophomore
Symarah Drey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) pinned Borge in 1:07.
Cedar Crest (5-1 overall) will stay home to host Wilkes University on Friday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. Kean (0-2 overall) next competes in the Alvernia Open on Sunday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m.
