ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Draydon Charman (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township), a four-year member of the Cedar Crest College wrestling team and the first recruit in program history, has been named as the next Graduate Assistant Wrestling Coach, as announced by Head Wrestling Coach Alex Depew.

"Draydon stepping into a coaching role is a grand slam for our college and wrestling program," said Depew. "Her resume on the mat speaks for itself, placing at several collegiate tournaments, as well as the 2023 Regional Championships. Nobody has been more loyal to the program and truly understands the philosophy and culture of this team than Draydon. She always understood our team-first mentality and will carry that into her coaching. Being the first collegiate women's wrestler in the Lehigh Valley is an honor she wears proudly, and I'm thrilled to see her transition from captain to coach."

Charman concluded her career with the Falcons as the program's all-time wins leader with 53, was a regional place-winner in 2023, and took first place at 160 at the 2026 Southern Virginia University Invitational. Additionally, she was recognized as the program's Most Valuable Player following the 2022-23 season.

"After four impressive years under Coach Depew's leadership and coaching, I'm confident that stepping into this role will allow me to help continue the growth of our program while making a more meaningful impact on women's wrestling as someone who has competed at the collegiate level," reflected Charman. "I again thank Coach Alex Depew, Athletic Director Christy Malone Fleagle and the driven team for considering myself for the position, and I can't wait to see what is next for the Cedar Crest wrestling team."

"From breaking barriers on the mat to leading the next wrestlers, we are proud to announce our first-ever women's wrestler is now stepping into a new role as our Graduate Assistant," said Fleagle. "Draydon's hard work, leadership, and dedication have paved the way for others, and we couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. As Athletic Director, I am incredibly excited for this next chapter for Draydon and for the continued impact she will have on our wrestling program, our student-athletes, and the future of women's wrestling will continue to be exciting!"

The wrestling program will open its 2026-27 season at the Princeton University Open on Sunday, November 1.
