ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College Athletic Department is excited to announce the promotion of Head Wrestling Coach
Alex Depew to Assistant Athletic Director for Capital Projects and Facility Development, as announced by Director of Athletics
Christy Malone Fleagle on Friday.
While continuing to serve as the Head Wrestling Coach, Depew will be responsible for supporting the strategic growth and development of the department's athletic facilities. He will serve as the primary liaison between athletics and campus facilities, assisting with facility enhancement projects, capital improvements, and the continued development of athletic spaces that support student-athlete success.
"This new role recognizes Alex's growing contributions to our department while keeping his commitment to our student-athletes and wrestling program at the forefront," said Fleagle. "Alex played a significant role in the build-out of our wrestling room, serving as our liaison with Skepton Construction throughout the project. We're excited to see the fitness center now come to life and to have Alex bring that same leadership and attention to detail to this expanded role."
"It is a great privilege to take on this new role within our athletic department," said Depew. "I'd like to thank Christy (Fleagle) for her leadership and belief in me. Cedar Crest College is a place that means a lot to me, and I'll do my best to help advance and elevate our department as a whole, while also staying focused and committed to our wrestling program. "
Depew begins his fifth season at the helm of the wrestling program in 2026-27 and the Falcons open the campaign at the Princeton University Open on Sunday, November 1 at 9:00 a.m.
